Details

For this project we are looking for someone to help build out our website pages for our IYV local in-person chapters. We are starting this project at the design phase so there will be opportunity for students to be involved from the very beginning to completion. We need your help to build out the platform. We don't expect the project to be too extensive because we imagine the pages to be rather simple and easily replicable for future chapters.

We are happy with our current website and want to add these components in a seamless way, making minimal changes to current design, and using best practices and best match necessary platforms/plugins/apps for these new features.

Our goal is a useful, easy to use site that encourages 1) time spent on the site, 2) conversion to event registrants, and 3) conversion to memberships.

We would like to work with students to further develop our website that is easy to maintain while providing an appealing interface for users. We currently use Wix and we already have a platform selected for the membership community that we need to integrate into our current page.

Deliverables

By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:

  • Understanding of website best practices for necessary platforms/plugins/apps options
  • Website design buildout experience
  • Strategy for marketing content

This project may involve:

  • Brainstorming ideas for the visual elements and design of the platform
  • Problem solving for necessary content elements and making evidence-based recommendations
  • Offering a plan and timeline to build out the new page(s)
  • Providing a suggested procedure for updating and maintaining the website pages.

Bonus steps eventually may involve:

  • Building out a template page
  • Troubleshooting the design
  • Testing the prototype
  • Finalizing the template chapter page
